Kimora Lee Harris-Taylor

Personal Profile

Kimora Lee is a passionate community leader, researcher, and the founder of Youth Unlocked, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting racialized and marginalized youth particularly those involved with or at risk of becoming involved with the justice system. A licensed paralegal with a B.A. in Criminology (Honours) from York University, Kimora currently serves as a Legal Coordinator in the field of gender-based violence, where she advocates for systemic change through legal support and community-based initiatives.

Her research, “The System Failed: Police Brutality and Its Unseen Victims”, has been published and presented at academic conferences across Germany, India, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Her work focuses on HIV in prisons, intimate partner violence (IPV), police brutality, and police and prison reform.

Through Youth Unlocked, Kimora has mentored over 100 young people, providing life skills training, legal literacy, advocacy, and one-on-one support. Her mission is deeply rooted in lived experience and guided by the belief that a person’s past does not define their future.

As a published speaker and mentor, Kimora facilitates empowering workshops for young girls on identity, self-worth, legal education, and systemic justice issues. Her ability to connect through storytelling and lived experience makes her a powerful educator and role model.

Kimora’s leadership continues to uplift and inspire, making her a vital changemaker and voice for youth across Ontario and beyond.
