This scholarship is named in loving memory of our grandmother, Sheila Harris known as “Gee". Gee was our biggest cheerleader, constantly reminding us that we could do absolutely anything we set our minds to. She would be incredibly proud of where this non-profit stands today. To honor her legacy of unconditional love and support, this award is designed to support an incoming first-year post-secondary student who embodies that same drive and resilience. Gee would always say, "You go girl!" and although this scholarship is open to anyone, We want to pass Gee's belief in a bright future on to you as you step into this next journey. Fun Fact: If you knew Gee, you knew she was the definition of resilient. She wasn't afraid to break barriers, and always kept going despite the odds. She made wine and even worked as a professional truck driver. In a heavily male-dominated field, she stepped up and did it with absolute confidence. This bursary deeply reflects that unstoppable spirit.
